Test the beta server or don't?

Hello guys. I have an offer for you. Majority rules. I will be checking to see what the majority has voted in this poll the next time I get on, and if we get 10+ people to vote, then the majority will win then or when I next log in.

i voted yes..... what is beta though?....... like a new source.....?

I choose test the beta now, while we play the beta you can edit it ;]? So we can like have the fun while your making it even better >.>

Beta is the same thing as prototype... it's not complete, just started.

so would it be like better... or more like runescape... i like jokerscape the way it is.......

Ok. The long-term goal of this beta-server is to be created like the current JokerScape that we know and love. The improvements will be that the server is more stable, we have more complex minigames including a few waves of a jad minigame, an assault minigame based on count kills(not like real rs's), about 5 custom made items including a pure's whip, a dragon platebody, a saradomin scimitar, a death cape, and a demonic death cape. The I am wearing all of these items in that little spoiler picture in xxmagerpwnxx's "goodbye" topic, except for the pure's whip and the death cape.

The current home will be edgeville for now, but that's only until I have the time to move the shops from edgeville to the current home in JokerScape as we know it. Then I will move the 3 portals to that area, and I may move my minigame over to that server but there will not be as great rewards to that minigame. The custom items are added to the assault shop for now, as they need to be harder to obtain. Admins will not be allowed to trade since they can spawn items, and they cannot lose items upon death. Co-Owners will be allowed to trade and spawn items, however they do not lose items upon death.

There may be a similar godwars dungeon moved over to this server, but it's definitely not a priority at this time. I'm very busy with work and school, I have to leave to go to school at 7 Am every morning, go straight from school to work at 2:40, get off work at 6, and by then I'm ready to either go to bed or go pick a buddy up and eat somethin. I rarely get home before 8:30, and if I do, I have to do some random crap for my parents. So I'm trying to get this beta server up. And I may appoint a new Co-Owner and teach them how to code so that someone will be able to maintain the server while I'm not around. To be completely honest, I have someone in mind already, and my mind is made up for the most part. This person actually knows a little about coding and cares about keeping JokerScape up and running smoothly, and I know they are at least partially willing to learn how to code.

This means some Moderator and Administrator positions may open up. I will look at who still visits this forum and the applications already on this forum for those positions when the time comes and the beta server is up. If you have been caught up in some misunderstanding or mishap, I strongly suggest you clear it up NOW. If I see that the situation hasn't been calmed down or resolved, you won't have as much of a chance at a staff position as someone else. Moderators will be given priority to obtaining Administrator over normal players, simply because they've had experience as staff on this server and I know if they have deserved the right to an Administrator position. I will discuss with the other Administrators who should be promoted and who should be demoted, based on past experiences. After that point, the main people that will be keeping order in the server will be our Administrators. They will advise to me and the Co-Owner that I may choose as to who has been acting correctly and who has been unfit for their positions. If you feel a staff member is abusing their powers, I suggest you keep that "prt scr/sysrq" button at the ready so you can take a screenshot of it. Lies to get our staff in trouble will NOT be tolerated, and we will act accordingly against any player who accuses a staff member of something they haven't done.

I am instructing our Administrators to hold off on any ip bans on players until they have consulted with at least one other Administrator from now on, unless it is a spammer or someone advertising multiple times. I know you may not like this but this is how things have to be taken care of if we want a good balance of player satisfaction and server peace.

Thank you all and the beta(or test) server will be up as soon as I'm done getting a few major kinks worked out of it.

im replying to what steelers said about the "christine for admin" i think she should be too, but idk why ive been playing longer and i have got my moderator before her.

i was just inserting my opinion, and i know he is not done with it and i definately appreciate all the work xero puts into this...

only you need to put an auto restarter on bcus kbd lured..
kbd is gone now, oh btw:

i got a question:
can u make it like to run 2 servers on the same ip, only the port to change?
because some people want the old server back

so they can play that, on port 5555, not 43594
get it?=]

then every 1 is happy lol =]

YES!!!!! definately a great solution to this!!!! hope it doesnt bother you Xero............

umm, here's a few things that might be hard for that idea?

1. I'm pritty sure xero dosn't host. - But he might be able to get a hold of the hoster?
2. I think that you cant host 2 servers at once? Not sure, I can run one. - mine :L
3. You cant host 2 ports at once? I'm like 90% sure on that, unless there is a way to have 2 diff programs up.
4. That would LAG the server like a bitch on steroids. But they're lagging steroids.

exactly well use two diff ports the reg one and 55555 or whatever the hell it is... but yea, it definately laggs the server

Guys I actually thought about doing this but never got around to it. The only thing is it's not my computer and I'd have to screw around with the port forwarding stuff and their router. I can change the server's port but it wouldn't let anybody get on it from that same ip until i changed the gaming settings on the host computer.

And I have access to the host computer even though I don't host. That's how I code it =)

well from what ive heard, people like regular server more, so i would get all techy and shiz
